Myles Goodwyn became a household name in Canada as part of the massive selling rock band April Wine. Now, as he is out on his own, he has returned to his first love – the blues. Those who have been following his career will not be surprised as he released Frends of the Blues in 2018. The album was so good it received a Juno nomination this year in the Blues Recording of the Year category. It did pick up another nomination and an award in that category at the East Coast Music Awards. So Friends of the Blues 2 is a natural progression. With this one he shows his skills as a song writer and that he has the requisite musicianship and heart to pull off a blues record. The songs are gritty, dirty, raw and memorable. You’ll be bopping your head along with “You Got It Bad”, “Fish Tank Blues” and ” Help Me Baby” as well as most of the 14 tracks. He has surrounded himself with plenty of talent in that he duets with Angel Forrest, a multiple winner of Female Blues Singer of the Year at the Toronto Blues Society Awards, and respected musicians like JR Smith, Jack de Keyzer, Warren Robert, Joe Murphy, and others.
