A Guitar’s Journey, from Then till Now by Christ Habib

The year 2020 begins on the six strings of a guitar with the Christ Habib concert on January 16 as part of the Mélodînes series. It will be a great opportunity to hear music from all eras.

Christ Habib began learning classical guitar at the age of 6. He entered the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau at the age of 10 and perfected his technique and art by participating, for many years, in guitar workshops at the Domaine Forget. He has also participated in several master classes given by internationally renowned guitarists, including Pepe Romero, Judicael Perroy, Sergio and Odair Assad, Matteo Mela, Lorenzo Micheli, Ana Vidovic, Marcin Dylla and many others.

Christ Habib won 2nd place at the Domaine Forget International Classical Guitar Competition in 2016 and 1st place, in 2019, in classical guitar as well as in the chamber music category, in guitar duo with Félix Dallaire, at the Pierre-de-Saurel Music Competition. In 2018, he won 3rd place at the Boston Guitar Academy International Competition. Most recently, he won 1st place in classical guitar at the National Music Competition (FCMF) held in Saskatoon in 2019.
