Prince – Originals

Music fans know that Prince, the purple one from Minnesota, was an amazing musician, commercially successful and incredibly popular. What some don’t know is that he was a great songwriter. So great that he wrote for many other artists or that they recorded his songs. Artists like Sheila E., Sinead O’Connor, Martika, The Time and The Bangles. He was a lover of music. So much so that when he “made” it in the music world he started to support young artists he liked. Supported them by giving them songs to record. This album, called Originals, features songs that he gave to other artists. Here you get to hear those songs by Prince himself. Some of his recordings are almost exactly how the other artists recorded them. Interesting to see how they acknowledged that the original product was perfectly done. All this material demonstrates how prolific he was. Always writing music. Also the wide variety of music styles he wrote and recorded.

Great to get some “new” music from him. Maybe we will get even more in the future.
