Listen to “Gas Me Up” HERE
Since
first breaking into the scene in 2018, LP Giobbi has become
one of the fastest-rising artists in the global electronic realm. She ended
2019 on a high note with both Billboard Dance and Your
EDM anointing her as an emerging artist to watch and rung in the new
decade with an acclaimed performance at SnowGlobe.
The
DJ, pianist, and producer kicks off the new decade with a fiery new single, “Gas
Me Up,” featuring frequent collaborator hermixalot, her second single
on Thrive Music that’s out today. Spotlighting LP’s rattling
percussion, deep subsonic bass lines, playful piano loops, and hermixalot’s
bombastic vocals, “Gas Me Up” is sure to dominate dance floors this season. The
release follows Giobbi’s recent collaborations with Crush Club
on the techno driven “Angel” and TT the Artist
on the frenetic single “Jungle Queen.”
Of
the track, hermixalot says, “Gas Me Up” started as a joke song called Peanut
Butter Mood. We were in the studio with our friend Jeffrey and he was obsessed
with the fact that I worked at Jamba Juice when I was a teenager and they had a
smoothie called Peanut Butter Moo’d. So originally, and admittedly after a
couple of bourbons, I recorded an entire song about a love affair I had with a
coworker. It was really silly. We had so much fun in the studio that day.
Later, LP extrapolated what became ‘Gas Me Up.’ The original line is actually
‘gas me up, I am the gas, pour me up, I am the juice, it’s a peanut butter
mood.’ I think we ended up going out that night to party, so it really captures
our pre-party vibes. The song became a pre-party anthem for us, and I think
that’s the energy it’ll bring to people that listen to it. I hope it becomes
every friend group’s jam when they’re getting ready to go cause trouble with
the squad.”
Giobbi will be joining Anderson.PAAK, Kurt Vile and others this weekend at 4XFar Festival this Saturday from 12-12:45 in Coachella Valley, CA. More dates to be announced later this month.

LP Giobbi is the
forward-thinking, boundary-breaking artist disrupting dance music today. Widely
known for her bass-rattling house beats and electrifying live performances, the
Oregon-born, LA based legend in the making is a “creative
multi-hyphenate” (Billboard): producer, DJ, label owner, curator, music
director, feminist, entrepreneur, and self-proclaimed ‘Piano House Queen.’
She’s become one of the
fastest-rising artists in the global electronic realm, with both Billboard
Dance and Your EDM anointing her as an emerging artist to watch for 2020.
Having already crushed sweaty clubs nationwide and massive festival stages
including Coachella, HARD Summer, MTV’s SnowGlobe, and Moogfest, LP Giobbi is
today taking over dance floors the world over. In addition to LP playing piano,
she adds a Roland TR8S Drum Machine and a Roland TB-03 bass line synth. This
allows her to get beyond the decks and create tracks live in the moment.
On any given track, LP can transform thumping house melodies into rapid-fire jungle rhythms, always keeping her signature songwriting skills and laser-cut production prowess at the core. She debuted “Amber Rose” her first single in 2018, which was praised by tastemaker media Paper and DJ Mag. “Dejala Pasar’ 2019 saw the producer releasing a series of singles “Ready to Go” and “’Slither In” and she closed out the year collaborating with Baltimore club queen TT The Artist for the single “Jungle Queen,” the first installment in a series of forthcoming singles she’s releasing on the trendsetting dance label Thrive throughout 2020.This was followed by the driving techno-funk cut “Angel,” a collaboration with NYC alt-dance duo Crush Club, which was featured as the lead single off the celebrated Workout Series compilation from Club Sweat, a sublabel of Australian tastemaker imprint Sweat It Out!
On the musical front, LP Giobbi is a co-owner of Animal Talk, the artist collective she co-founded with Grammy-nominated electronic duo Sofi Tukker. Part publishing company (joint venture with Third Side Music), part event brand, Animal Talk is at the forefront of emerging electronic scenes and sounds around the globe. An ardent feminist and an advocate for gender equality, LP Giobbi is also the founder of FEMMEHOUSE, an educational platform created to address the lack of representation and equity in electronic music by empowering womxn to learn the language of the studio. Launched at Moogfest 2019, FEMMEHOUSE leverages her extensive network of artists to lead immersive workshops, which cover practical recording skills and studio production techniques like MIDI and vocal-based production and songwriting.
