Maison 4:3 and Voyelles Films are proud to announce that Matthew Rankin’s The Twentieth Century has received 8 nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards: Best Motion Picture (Ménaïc Raoul, Gabrielle Tougas-Fréchette), Achievement in Art Direction/Production Design (Dany Boivin), Achievement in Costume Design (Patricia McNeil), Achievement in Direction (Matthew Rankin), Achievement in Hair (Nermin Grbic), Original Screenplay (Matthew Rankin), Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Dan Beirne) and John Dunning Best First Feature Film Award (Matthew Rankin).

Organized by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the Canadian Screen Awards recognize excellence in Canadian film, English-language television and digital media productions.

This great news comes a few days before the European Premiere of the film at the 70th Berlinale. The Twentieth Century will screen in the Forum section on February 22, 23, 27 and March 1st, with Matthew Rankin, producers Gabrielle Tougas-Fréchette and Ménaïc Raoul, and actors Dan Beirne, Sarianne Cormier and Mikhaïl Ahooja in attendance.

The film is currently in theatres inMontreal for a 9th week, at Cinéma Moderne, and will open on February 28 in Vancouver at the Vancity Theatre.
