The Chicago-born, LA-based Alexander Glantz is the sole creative force behind Alexander 23: he writes, records and produces all of his music in addition to making the artwork for his singles and merch as well as animating his lyric videos. He released his debut EP I’m Sorry I Love You to critical acclaim in 2019, featuring breakout single “Dirty AF1’s” which premiered as Apple Music’s Bop of the Week and landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist. He went on to tour with Alec Benjamin, Omar Apollo and mxmtoon, and made his Lollapalooza debut.
2020 is already shaping up to be a big year for Alexander 23. Just two weeks ago he shared his first new music of the year, the single “I Hate You So Much” alongside a self-animated lyric video—watch here. He sold out two nights at L.A.’s Moroccan Lounge earlier this month, his first-ever headline shows, and has racked up 56 million streams in 10 months and 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He’s currently on tour with Chelsea Cutler, and later this year, he will tour with Lauv.
