Described by the BBC as “an icon of Irish music”, Dervish includes six of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers, Cathy Jordan.
Recipients of a Lifetime Achievement Award at BBC Folk Awards, this Sligo-based band marries technical brilliance with a rare sensibility. They are renowned for their live performances, which match dazzling sets of tunes with stunning interpretations of traditional songs.
The group includes: Cathy Jordan (voice, bodhran), Tom Morrow (fiddle), Shane Mitchell (accordion), Liam Kelly (flute/whistle), Brian McDonagh (mandola/mandolin) and Michael Holmes (bouzouki).
Join us at the cozy Maison de la culture de Waterloo on Sunday, March 8 – just 15 minutes from Knowlton, 50 minutes from the Vermont border, and 1 hour from Montréal.
