APRIL 9th: ONLINE Q&A WITH THE EDITOR OF THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL
KATE SANFORD
An editor is an essential part of the collaborative filmmaking process, but few people have a chance to understand what editors actually do. They (usually) don’t write, they don’t direct, and they don’t shoot- so what kind of influence do these post production wizards actually have? And is there a different approach towards editing for film versus television? Kate Sanford has been working on both television and feature-length films for almost 30 years and will let you in on some of the decision-making that happens in the editing room. Fans of Amazon’s THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL are in for a treat, as Sanford will give insight into the creative process of editing this fast-paced show, with a focus on her work on the Emmy-nominated Episode 1 of Season 2, titled SIMONE. Feel free to stream the episode ahead of time for a refresher. The talk will be held online on April 9th at 7pm EST and will be moderated by WFF’s Executive Director Meira Blaustein.
