OPENING FILM OF THE MIDNIGHT MADNESS SECTION OF THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL:

BLOOD QUANTUM

A FILM DIRECTED BY JEFF BARNABY

Entract Films, in collaboration with Elevation Pictures, is proud to announce that the film BLOOD QUANTUM (French version ROUGE QUANTUM) will be available on all video-on-demand platforms today.

The dead come back to life on the outskirts of Red Crow’s Mi’gMaq Reserve, with the exception of Aboriginal residents who seem immune to this epidemic. Faced with the growing threat, Traylor, the sheriff of the community, must protect her son’s pregnant girlfriend and the inhabitants of the reserve, but also manage the wave of white refugees who come seeking safety…

BLOOD QUANTUM stars Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers (The Body Remembers When The World Broke Open), Kawenna’Here Devery Jacobs (The Order), Michael Greyeyes (Woman Walks Ahead, Fear the Walking Dead) & Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant, Indian Horse).

Author and director Jeff Barnaby was born on a Mi’gmaq reserve in Listuguj, Quebec. His film portrays an austere and scathing image of the post-colonial portrait of Aboriginal life and culture. After making 3 award-winning short films, he made his feature film debut with his cult film “Rhymes for Young Ghouls“. BLOOD QUANTUM, his second feature film, was presented at the opening of the prestigious “MIDNIGHT MADNESS” section of the Toronto International Film Festival last September.

Filmed in Kahnawake and Listuguj in Quebec, BLOOD QUANTUM will be available in English and French versions (French version ROUGE QUANTUM) on all video-on-demand platforms today.
