Directed by Vicky Lawton, “Save A Kiss” was made during lockdown with the idea of connecting everyone to their loved ones through dance. Jessie and her 14 fans who were included in the video self shot videos of themselves dancing along to the new single. Speaking of the song and video Jessie says, “This song feels particularly special coming out now, I love it and feel really proud of what we have made for the video.”

With production from both Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Midland, “Save A Kiss” echoes Disco divas of the past and sees Jessie at her most flirtatious while carrying the carnal energy of a first encounter on a nightclub dancefloor. It’s a recipe for club glory with it’s sleek disco influence and the kind of free-roaming rubbery bass lines that would have you dancing relentlessly. It’s the perfect prescription for a world without dance floors.

“’Save A Kiss’ has taken on a new meaning during these weird times and it seems like the right time to put it out.” Explains Jessie. “This track is an optimistic one for me, I hope it resonates with people wherever they are right now. It’s an upbeat song to dance along too and have fun with. I know I’ve got plenty of kisses I’m saving up for everyone when this is all over.”

Last month, Jessie announced her fourth studio album What’s Your Pleasure? to great fan excitement, with Pitchfork saying, “Her latest single reminds us why we listen to dance music in the first place,” and Fader adding, “Ooh La La is the kind of track that could make quarantine feel like Studio 54.” Her fourth studio album is a collection of sophisticated, hard-bodied pop funk that capitalizes on a love of 70s, 80s and 90s club culture coupled with Jessie’s vocals and the intuitive production of long-time friend James Ford culminates in a sound that feels instantly compelling. Jessie has succeeded in audaciously mulching several decades of party music into an album so relentless it doubles as a playlist.

With four BRIT-nominations plus a Mercury Prize nomination and three UK top-ten albums under her belt, Jessie has proven her status as one of the UK’s most influential artists. Her return with the dancefloor ready What’s Your Pleasure? feels like an artist in control while capturing the essence of nostalgia to keep the spirit of club music and the dancefloor alive.
