On the occasion of the Music Festival, Sunday, June 21, the television channel MEZZO LIVE HD offers a real world tour of the best venues, the best performances in classical music, jazz, opera and dance. During the weekend of June 20 and 21, viewers will be able to travel, be moved and even (re)see Quebec artists or events: Montreal Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kent Nagano, Metropolitan Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Seguin with Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Stéphane Tétreault, or concerts captured at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. There will also be another special evening (June 29) of the famous festival to enjoy recordings of previous editions. In addition, MEZZO LIVE HD is already celebrating its five-year anniversary in the country and, on this occasion, is pleased to offer five days of access for Videotron, Cogeco Cable and CCAP subscribers from June 19 to 23.

Saturday, June 20 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, June 21, midnight, MEZZO LIVE HD takes you on a musical world tour to experience some of the best of classical, jazz and dance. So from Tokyo to Montreal, via St. Petersburg, Vienna, London, Berlin, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam, Cleveland, 40 hours of music, more than 40 programs, more than 30 musical capitals, dozens of masterpieces, hundreds of artists will be offered.
The celebrations will begin on Saturday, June 20 at 7 a.m. from Tel Aviv and end in Montreal on the evening of June 21, with concerts recorded at the Montreal International Jazz Festival: Gregory Porter, Béla Fleck and Donny McCaslin.

The brilliant jazz saxophonist continues to amaze with his virtuosity, versatility and fruitful collaborations. Here at the Gesù, McCaslin pays a moving tribute to David Bowie by dedicating Beyond Now to him.

In this special year, MEZZO LIVE HD is even more important to highlight the renowned Montreal International Jazz Festival with the broadcast of recordings made over the past five years. In addition to the evening of June 21 with Gregory Porter, Béla Fleck and Donny McCaslin, Monday, June 29, the public will be able to enjoy two concerts captured in 2018 at the Gesù: Mark Guiliana and then Shabaka and The Ancestors. They were just scheduled to play this year.

One of the most esteemed young drummers on the jazz planet for his innovative playing and creative use of electronics, Mark Guiliana presents his beat music project, where jazz and electro mix with as much audacity as creativity. For the occasion, he enlisted the services of the phenomenal New York keyboardist Bigyuki with whom he explored at leisure the different worlds of jazz.
21h15 : Shabaka & The Ancestors – Festival international de Jazz de Montréal 2018
London tenor saxophonist and composer Shabaka Hutchings places African and Caribbean music at the top of his list of influences. In 2018, he presented the album The Wisdom of Elders, which he describes as Afrofuturist.
