KEVIN GARRETT REVEALS RENDITION OF *NSYNC’S “IT’S GONNA BE ME”
THE ARTIST ORIGINALLY PERFORMED THE SONG LAST MONTH DURING LIVE STREAM TO RAVE FAN REACTION
Pittsburgh-born and GRAMMY® award-nominated artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Kevin Garrett reveals rendition of *NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me” today, May 1st, in conjunction with the internet holiday sensation tied to the original song. Kevin’s version of the smash hit matures the track’s evocative lyrics with chill beats, fitting perfectly alongside his more beat-driven soulful catalog.
On March 21st, when Kevin was quarantined, he had seen that it was the 20th anniversary of NSYNC’s second album, No Strings Attached. Naturally, he jumped on a live stream and played a piano cover of “It’s Gonna Be Me.” When fans started raving about the cover, Kevin decided to record and produce the track himself, and decided it would a release.
Kevin said on how the cover came about, “I was stuck with a friend at their place in LA and it was No Strings Attached’s 20th anniversary and I remembered how much I loved this album. So when I finally got back home I made this cover in my kitchen. It was fun to try and reimagine it a little bit.”
Kevin recently dropped is new EP Made Up Lost Time (HERE). The project followed his much-anticipated full-length debut album, HOAX, which was released last year. In support of HOAX, Kevin also made his late night television debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, performing the lead single off the project, “It Don’t Bother Me At All.” Click HERE to watch his performance!
