TVA FILMS is pleased to announce its exclusive release on video on demand and on Apple TV from 16 June 2020.

Presented at the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, this poignant film tells the story of a marriage that suddenly ends after nearly thirty years of living together, and stars Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right, American Beauty), Bill Nighy (Love Actually, About Time) and Josh O’Connor (God’s Own Country, The Crown). Directed by The British screenwriter William Nicholson of Gladiator, Shadowlands and Les Misérables (2012), this intimate and personal film traces the ordeal of his parents’ divorce that turned him upside down.

As Professor Edward (Bill Nighy) and his wife Grace (Annette Bening) prepare to celebrate the 29th anniversary of their marriage, their relationship is in a very bad place. She accuses him of no longer making any effort to make her happy, he takes refuge in a mutism from which only his passion for historical pages on Wikipedia can still get him out. Visiting with their only son Jamie for the weekend could have been an opportunity to take stock and start again. It turns out to be the pretext for the announcement of Edward’s departure from the family home, since he is in love with Angela, the mother of a student, with whom he has been having an affair for some time. Grace does not know how to deal with this personal drama that she did not see coming.

TVA FILMS will offer the French version of  Ce qui nous sépare (Hope Gap) in video on demand and on Apple TV from June 16 and the English version only on certain platforms including Videotron, Cogeco and Sasktel.
