The redux of the classic cop series Hawaii Five-O has come to an end. This is the final season. The last 22 episodes of the series involve good guys going after the bad ones amidst beautiful scenery.
As is typical with this series you get kidnappings, bomb threats and assassinations. Pirates are thrown in for good measure. The bad guys have to go up against the best cops in Hawaii – Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett (played by Alex O’Loughlin), Detective Sgt. Danno Williams (played by Scott Caan), Lou Grover (played by Chi McBride), Meaghan Rath (played by Tani Rey), and Beulah Koale (played by Junior Reeigns) with some help from Jerry Ortega (played by Jorge Garcia). It will all come to a head with a final momentus showdown against the crime organization, the Yakuza. Whoever comes out of it on top will be in control of all the Hawaiian islands.
Even fans of the series will admit that it has been rather up and down in regards to quality. But it was always a hit for CBS over its 10 seasons whether on Monday or Friday nights. While you are not going to get Emmy worthy acting here what you can always be assured of is entertaining storylines.
Some fun stuff happens in the final season including a guest visit from fellow Hawaiian crime fighters Thomas Magnum (played by Jay Hernandez) and Higgens (played by Perdita Weeks). Also guest appearances by Rob Morrow, Joey Lawrence, Masi Oka, Metta World Peace, Jimmy Buffett, Chuck Norris, and Christine Lahti.
