On August 28 and 29, Bell will present two evenings in the colours of the REGARD Festival as part of the Ciné-Parc Urban at Place des Festivals – Zibi, Gatineau. Film buffs in the province will be able to converge on Gatineau and enjoy four exclusive programs designed by REGARD, projected on a giant screen five stories high. Tickets go on sale today at a cost of $30 per vehicle.

REGARD is recognized as a must-attend event in the film industry. Its 24th edition was originally scheduled to take place in Saguenay from March 11 to 15, 2020, but had to be cut short due to preventive measures for COVID-19. The remaining two exclusive evenings, bringing together the best of the programming of the 24th edition of REGARD, will be held in Gatineau.

This unique event is the result of a collaboration between the festival organizers, Orkestra, Zibi, Bell, Desjardins and Ottawa Tourism. The agency will once again partner with the Island Manne to provide a team of volunteers to the site. In addition, $2 per ticket sold will be donated to the non-profit organization, whose mission is to support and meet the needs of people in financial and social precarious situations in Ottawa.

“Our short film programming rarely travels to Ottawa, let alone the exclusive ones! The invitation of the organizers of the Ciné-Parc Urban in Zibi was therefore timely this year to allow us to share the talent of the filmmakers we had selected for our 24th edition. said Marie-Élaine Riou, Executive Director of the REGARD Festival.

“We are proud to welcome REGARD and contribute to the exposure of local creators through the Ciné-Parc Urban in Zibi. We are also pleased to be able to encourage short film lovers from across the province to discover our beautiful region.” -Orkestra co-chair Colin Laramée-Plouffe.

DIVERSE PROGRAMMING Two programs per night have been chosen to delight film lovers.

Friday, August 28:
REGARD en famille The best short films targeted towards young audiences which were selected from the 24th edition of the REGARD festival. Animation, documentary, emotion and fun for an hour of more family-friendly cinema.

Favourites – Globetrotter A unique program containing a sample of the best international discoveries.

Saturday, August 29:
Tourner à tout prix! One of the most important parts of the Festival: a competition between independent productions of Canadian directors, that is, without financial assistance from the community. It’s a way to discover the talents of tomorrow.
