Cinema sous les étoiles presented by Funambules Media continues its 11th edition at home with the presentation of the film Le Château by Denys Desjardins in collaboration with Quebec Cinema. The documentary film will be available from Monday, August 10, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to Thursday, August 13, 7 p.m. on TV5 platforms (website and apps and television). A live discussion will take place on the Facebook page of Cinema sous les étoiles with the filmmaker on Thursday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m.

In the current context where seniors in CHSLDs are most affected by the pandemic, Le Château addresses, from a very personal point of view, the facets of old age and these multiple adaptations when memory and autonomy are factors. This exploratory documentary highlights the humanity and vulnerability of our seniors hidden behind statistics.

LE CHATEAU

Madeleine is 86. For the past five years, she has lived at Château Beaurivage, a residence for seniors in Montreal North. But as her condition deteriorates and her memories begin to play a few tricks on her, this woman has to move, she who had promised to stay in the same apartment for the rest of her life. In this poignant exploratory documentary, the filmmaker tackles a new facet of memory through the disarming and intimate portrait of a mother, his own, who must face the challenges of aging.
