Tasya Vos is a member of a secret organization that, using brain implants, takes possession of another body in order to commit assassinations for the benefit of the company. Although she excels at her work, her previous missions have caused a drastic change in her and she finds herself struggling with violent memories. As her mental tension intensifies, she begins to lose control, and she finds herself trapped in the mind of a man whose identity threatens to destroy her own.
Director Brandon Cronenberg has seen his first feature film, ANTIVIRAL, presented as a selection in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. Winner of the Best First Canadian Film Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, Brandon Cronenberg premiered his latest film POSSESSOR at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
POSSESSOR stars Andrea Riseborough in BIRDMAN, Christopher Abbot, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in the miniseries CATCH-22, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, who is nominated for an Oscar for Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT and has collaborated with David Cronenberg.
POSSESSOR will be screened in Quebec cinemas in english and French on October 2.
