When A-Trak and Dave 1 of Chromeo teamed up as The Brothers Macklovitch, they set out to channel the sounds of their formative years—countless hours spent digging for records and falling in love with music as funk-hungry Montreal teens. The Grammy-nominated siblings share a new track, “I Can Call You.” Listen here. The song is a cover of a 1995 track by the R&B group Portrait, sped up and injected with jazz like it came straight from their parents’ basement, with Dave on vocals and production from A-Trak.

“I Can Call You” follows the brothers’ debut single, “Give Love To Get Some,” featuring R&B star Leven Kali, and its Waajeed and Morgan Geist remixes.

Dave “Dave 1” Macklovitch leads Grammy-nominated funk all-star duo Chromeo alongside high school best friend Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel. The Montreal natives rose to prominence with their seminal 2007 release Fancy Footwork, heralding the dawn of the ‘80s electro-funk revival. Their fifth album, Head Over Heels, was released in 2018 to widespread acclaim.

A-Trak is the alias of world-renowned DJ and producer Alain Macklovitch, founder of Fool’s Gold Records and the Goldie Awards and one half of the irreverent supergroup Duck Sauce with Armand Van Helden. Equal parts DJ (a DMC champion at 15, to boot) and entrepreneur, the Grammy-nominated A-Trak has helped developed the careers of major acts like Kid Cudi and Flosstradamus while continually pushing the boundaries on his own music and business endeavors.
