Billy Wilder on Assignment brings together more than 50 essays written by Wilder during his early journalist years 1925-1930; these essays have been translated into English for the first time by Shelley Frisch. The essays include a humorous account of Wilder’s stint as a hired dancing companion in a posh Berlin hotel, his dispatches from the international film scene, to profiles of writers, performers, and political figures.
