SOME KIND OF HEAVEN

IN VIRTUAL CINEMAS FROM FEBRUARY 19, 2021

SOME KIND OF HEAVEN will be available from 19 February 2021, in original version with French subtitles, via Beaubien, Cinema du Parc and Cinema du Musée cinemas as well as MK2 MILE END’s virtual cinema platform mk2mile-end.com. Directed by Lance Oppenheim and produced by Darren Aronofsky, this feature-length documentary was selected for the 41st Sundance Film Festival.

Behind the doors of a fantastic palm-lined universe, four residents of the largest retirement community in the United States, The Villages, Florida, strive to find comfort and meaning in their lives.

For his first feature film, Lance Oppenheim has taken a look at this micro-society which offers a supposed utopia and well-oiled mechanisms, The Villages. The director himself, originally from Florida, has taken an interest in his native region and the thousands of retirees who cross the United States to settle down and isolate themselves in this bubble, reminding them of their youth. This documentary filmed featuring acid colors offers a tender and surreal look at the quest for meaning in life and love in the last slice of life of these elders.
