Theatrical and VOD release in Canada on March 5, 2021

My Salinger Year is produced by Luc Déry and Kim McCraw of micro_scope – the Montreal company that produced the previous feature films of Falardeau: Guibord s’en va-t-en guerreMonsieur LazharC’est pas moi, je le jure! and Congorama – in co-production with Irish company Parallel Films.

The film stars Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood) and Sigourney Weaver (winner of two Golden Globes and a three-time Oscar finalist, notably for her role in the Alien saga). Douglas Booth (The Riot Club), Seána Kerslake (The Hole in the Ground), Brían F. O’Byrne (Million Dollar Baby), Colm Feore (Bon Cop, Bad Cop 1 and 2), Theodore Pellerin (Genèse, Chien de garde) and Yanic Truesdale (Gilmore Girls, Les Mecs) complete the cast in the lead roles.

My Salinger Year, a Canada-Ireland co-production, was shot in the summer of 2019 in Montreal and New York. This is the third English-language feature film directed by Philippe Falardeau, who wrote the screenplay based on Joanna Rakoff’s autobiographical book. The film was produced with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada, SODEC, Screen Ireland, in association with Crave and Super Écran. Métropole Films (Mongrel Media) is distributing the film in Canada and Memento Films is handling international sales. My Salinger Year had its world premiere as the opening film of the 70th Berlinale in February 2020.
