Month-Long Programming Features Films Directed by and/or Starring Women
In honour of International Women’s Day on March 8, Hollywood Suite is proud to announce a month of movies featuring women behind the camera and women in front of the camera.
One of the key films featured in the collection is Colette (2018), which will be a Hollywood Suite exclusive title following its premiere on March 8 at 9pm ET. The film, which stars Keira Knightley in the titular role, tells the true story of Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette who is forced to ghostwrite under her husband’s name. Upon the success of the books, she fights to assert her creative ownership, challenging gender norms of the time.
“From comedy and drama to documentary and romance, we have something for everyone,” said Sharon Stevens, Vice President, Programming for Hollywood Suite. “Together with Colette, we’ve curated an exciting month of female-driven films that shine a light on some of the most compelling storytellers of the past sixty years.”

A documentary showcasing the life and career of US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. From being a trailblazer for women’s rights to becoming a pop culture icon in her final decade, West and Cohen get behind-the-scenes, unprecedented access to the woman known lovingly as RBG.
REAL GENIUS (1985) – March 2 at 9pm ET

When two college students discover their project is being eyed by nefarious government officials to be used as a weapon, they set out to put a stop to their plans.
