The Investigation – Available to Own Now on Digital

From Oscar-nominated Tobias Lindholm, THE INVESTIGATION explores the complex real-life investigation surrounding the 2017 murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, making international headlines around the world as one of the most notorious criminal cases in Danish media history. Based on the internationally followed “submarine case,” the series closely follows Jens Møller (Søren Malling), the Head of Homicide, and his team in the pursuit of the truth. With the hope of being able to provide the prosecutor (Pilou Asbæk) solid evidence in order to create a convincing case and give the relatives the certainty they deserve, the team enlists the use of methodical, unusual and technical work tactics. The series was made in close cooperation with the real-life Jens Møller and Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall.

Wild Card: The Downfall of a Radio Loudmouth – Available to Own on Digital 4/5

It’s a story of fame, greed, wild excess, self-destruction…and blackjack. Craig Carton was a prominent New York radio personality until his secret gambling addiction–financed by an illicit ticket-brokering business–halted his career and landed him in jail. In a series of candid and intimate first-person interviews, Carton opens up on how he went from big city success to being arrested by the FBI and charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and securities fraud in 2017.

The Perfect Weapon – Available to Own on Digital 4/14

THE PERFECT WEAPON explores the rise of cyber conflict as a primary way in which nations now compete with and sabotage one another. Cheap, invisible, and devastatingly effective, cyber weapons are the present and future of geopolitical conflict: a short-of-war pathway to exercising power.  An HBO documentary special based on the best-selling book by New York Times National Security Correspondent David E. Sanger and directed by Emmy-winner John Maggio (HBO’s Panic: The Untold Story of the 2008 Financial Crisis), the film draws on interviews with top military, intelligence, and political officials for a comprehensive view of a world of new vulnerabilities — particularly as fear mounts over how cyberattacks and influence operations may affect vulnerable power grids, America’s nuclear weapons arsenal, and the global networks that are the backbone of private enterprise.  It also focuses on how the U.S. government is struggling to defend itself from cyberattacks while simultaneously stockpiling — and using — the world’s most powerful offensive cyber arsenal.

The Vow: Season One – Available to Own on Digital 4/16

This documentary series from Oscar® nominated, Emmy®-winning directors Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer (The Square, Control Room, Startup.com) follows a range of people who joined the self-improvement group, NXIVM – its leader, convicted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, among other crimes– to reveal the emotional toll of unfolding events on these individuals.

Agents of Chaos – Available to Own on Digital 4/16

This two-part documentary directed from Emmy® and Academy Award Winner Alex Gibney (Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, The Inventor: Out For Blood In Silicon Valley) is a product of years of reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 election. With never-before-seen footage inside the Russian troll farms, and videos unearthed from the Russian deep web, the film digs deep into the sophisticated plans to undermine democracy, raising the alarm for the American public, but also proving that these “agents of chaos” weren’t Russians alone; they were also key players in the United States who, through venality, corruption or circumstance, furthered Putin’s goals, with a vulnerable and unsuspecting American public as their target.

537 Votes – Available to Own on Digital 4/19

The high-octane feature documentary chronicles the political machinations that led to the unprecedented, contested outcome of the 2000 presidential election.  Through interviews with key insiders and a wealth of archival footage, the film examines the events in the battleground state of Florida leading up to and after election day in November 2000, when a chaotic voter recount resulted in Texas Governor George W. Bush winning the presidency by a razor-thin margin. 537 VOTES looks beyond the headlines of undervotes, recounts and hanging chads to reveal the players and politicos locked in a strategic battle for the future of the United States.

The Soul of America – Available to Own on Digital 4/25

THE SOUL OF AMERICA follows writer, journalist, historian and prolific presidential biographer Jon Meacham as he offers his timely and invaluable insights into the United States’ current political and historical moment by examining its past. Based on Meacham’s 2018 bestseller, The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels, the film illuminates our current fraught political reality by exploring historical challenges of the past, such as the women’s suffrage movement, the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II, McCarthyism and the struggle to pass Civil Rights legislation in the 1960s – all instances in which “our better angels” battled against the forces of hatred and division that are recurring themes in American life. Helping us to better understand the parallels between current events and their historical antecedents, THE SOUL OF AMERICA ultimately gives hope that the lessons of the past may bring the nation closer to achieving its democratic ideals.
