Ten new aesthetically elegant, mature and sober pieces
Montreal design studio Alphabet, renowned for creating furniture, light fixtures and spaces, extends its scope in a major way by presenting a series of ten new pieces for the house. These essential items share a focus on beauty and material integrity – notably the solid oak and textiles that harmoniously tie these pieces together.
THE NEW PIECES
Among them we find the Serra dining room set, the Dune one seat chair, the Minuit bed, the Archipel living room set, the Nocturne cream-coloured chair, as well as the Horizon and Sud lamps. These new creations are aesthetically elegant, mature and sober, with a mid-century modern design touch, which is ubiquitous at Alphabet. Each piece is built in the company’s Montreal workshop by a small team of skilled artisans using materials and finishes of the highest quality. They are all designed with flexibility of use and durability in mind. These are pieces to be cherished a long time, as they adapt to constantly evolving needs, tastes and decors.
REDIRECTING EFFORTS
Immortalized at Place Ville-Marie, one of the signature buildings of the Montreal skyline, the new pieces mark an important turning point for the brand. You may not know that Alphabet is a line overseen by Machine, a multidisciplinary design firm, as well as Kermesse, a division specialized in event installations and furniture. Until recently, the latter was the most active branch of the business, participating annually in more than twenty major events in Montreal (Osheaga, Festival MURAL, etc.). Because of last year’s downturn in events, focus has shifted towards Alphabet in order to turn this entrepreneurial challenge into an opportunity. Adaptability and optimism are the name of the game as efforts are redirected into the Alphabet brand so it can continue to flourish and raise its voice in the Quebec design ecosystem and market.
NEW WEBSITE
This breath of fresh air is also supported by Alphabet’s brand new website. Featuring new photorealistic 3D renderings in every finish and colour, the new online platform allows for easier discovery of the Alphabet universe and enhances the shopping experience.
