British Broadcast Exclusive Premieres May 20
Luke Evans Stars as Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins
Hollywood Suite is bringing the ITV true crime drama The Pembrokeshire Murders, starring Luke Evans (Beauty & The Beast, the Fast and the Furious series) to Canadian airwaves. The three-part drama will premiere May 20 at 9pm ET and will be available on Hollywood Suite On Demand beginning May 21.
Revealing the enthralling inside story of a ground-breaking case that set the standard for cold case murder investigations, The Pembrokeshire Murders is a scripted series based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Steve Wilkins and Jonathan Hill.
In 2006, newly promoted Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins (Luke Evans) decides to reopen two unsolved murder cases that have cast a long shadow over the work of the Dyfed-Powys police force. Employing pioneering forensic methods, Wilkins and his hand-picked team find microscopic DNA and fibres that potentially link the 1980s murders to a string of burglaries also committed in the 80s and 90s. The perpetrator of those crimes is nearing the end of his prison sentence, but if Steve Wilkins is right, he is also a serial killer.
“The Pembrokeshire Murders boasted the biggest drama launch on ITV since 2006,” said David Kines, President of Hollywood Suite. “Canadians have always had a love affair with British programming, and I know that this gripping series will not disappoint.”
Also available on May 21 is The Pembrokeshire Murders: Catching the Game Show Killer, a documentary chronicling the real-life story behind The Pembrokeshire Murders. The Pembrokeshire Murders is written by Nick Stevens (In Plain Sight), directed by Marc Evans (Manhunt) and produced by Ed Talfan (Hinterland). Executive Producer is Simon Heath (Line of Duty, Bodyguard).
