Weekenders, the third feature from writer/director Erik Bloomquist and production banner Mainframe Pictures, will be available for worldwide audiences to purchase or rent on May 18th, 2021 from 1091 Pictures.
In Weekenders, a scheduling mix-up at an Airbnb brings four twenty-somethings together, each navigating the open waters of where, how, and with whom they’re supposed to be. As the long weekend progresses, the foursome is forced to contemplate their collective baggage, the value of prioritizing connection over convenience, and what happens when they all go home.
Erik Bloomquist (Ten Minutes to Midnight, Long Lost) wrote, directed and stars. The cast also features Mainframe favorites Peyton Michelle Edwards (She Came from the Woods), Ehad Berisha (Quantico, The Deuce), and Maggie McMeans (The Cobblestone Corridor). Bloomquist and brother Carson produce for Mainframe.
“Right on the heels of their release of Ten Minutes to Midnight, the Mainframe team and I are delighted to continue our relationship with 1091,” said Bloomquist. “Weekenders is a divergence from my recent genre work and uniquely special to me.”
Bloomquist is a two-time New England Emmy® Award winner (Outstanding Writer and Director) for his work on the nationally syndicated television series The Cobblestone Corridor.
Weekenders will be available to purchase or rent on May 18th.
