The track is the first single off their forthcoming Colossus to be released in early Fall 2021. The band will also give a virtual performance at Global Toronto Festival and Conference on June 16th.
The Liquor Store are a group of seven young musicians from Montreal that love getting audiences moving up to upbeat music. The band members explore a wide range of styles such as R&B, funk, hip-hop, soul, electronica and jazz and bring a breath of fresh air to the Quebec’s stages.
“MOPHO” is the lead single off the band’s next album to be released early fall. Colossus, the band’s second opus, is a musical fantasy with jazz accents inspired by the band’s members’ darkest and most absurd thoughts. The album will include seven instrumental pieces, each more bewitching than the other.
“MOPHO” is infudes with the spirit of funk and a touch of modern jazz. With crisp melodies and a phlegmatic rhythm section, this track is reminiscent of the American funk of bands like Lettuce, Tower of Power or Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles. “MOPHO” is an explosive single and so inspiring that it’s the perfect piece to end a marathon!
