From the streets of Brooklyn to the studio in Los Angeles to the big screen with the critically acclaimed summer blockbuster In The Heights, celebrated Artist and Actor Anthony Ramos has made his presence known everywhere in 2021. Today, he proudly presents his anxiously awaited second full-length album, LOVE AND LIES [Republic Records], allowing listeners to get closer than ever.
Executive produced by his longtime friend and collaborator Will Wells with collaborators including songwriter Castle, producers Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo (Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Justin Bieber, Nicky Jam) and Jesse Shatkin [Rihanna, Sia], the 12-track project showcases every side of the dynamic and diverse multihyphenate blending a mix of R&B and pop sensibilities with Ramos’ Latin roots.
“Sometimes, it’s hard to differentiate things you love with the lie that they are, or vice versa,” he states. “Something may seem like a lie, but it’s really love. You think, ‘I love you, but I have to be honest with myself, because I’m telling myself that this will work when it really can’t.’ There’s a blurred line, so you wonder whether you’re going to put yourself first or this other person. You’re caught between love and lies. That’s what this album is really all about.”

The multi-talented artist initially geared up for the album with “Blessings,” “Say Less,” and “Échale,“ which he dropped ahead of the album. The three tracks attracted early praise with Rolling Stone praising “Say Less” as “an unabashedly steamy piece of R&B,” and Billboard declaring “his seductive, effervescent croon on “Say Less,” an atmospheric R&B late-night jam in the vein of the Weeknd.” Refinery29 raved, “‘Échale’ puts listeners under a frantic dancing spell,” and urged, “Admit it, you have a Huge crush on Anthony Ramos right now.”
2021 is shaping up to be the rising stars biggest year yet. Ramos recently graced the covers of The Hollywood Reporter and TIME Magazine’s prestigious “Next Generation Leaders” issue. This month he stars in the blockbuster film “In The Heights,” which is in theaters and available via HBO Max now. He also currently stars in HBO’s reimagining of the Emmy Award-winning series In Treatment opposite Uzo Aduba. What’s more he starred in Calvin Klein’s new Spring 2021 campaign alongside stars like Megan Thee Stallion and Jacob Elordi.
