The film ANNETTE by French director Leos Carax will take the stage on August 6. presented in the opening and official competition of the 74th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the film was awarded the Best Director Award by the jury chaired by Spike Lee. A musical starring Marion Cotillard, Adam Driver and Simon Helberg, ANNETTE will be shown in cinemas starting on August 6, 2021.

Twenty years after Les Amants du Pont-Neuf and nine years after Holy Motors, Leos Carax sigals his great return with ANNETTE.The enfant terrible of French cinema cast Adam Driver (Marriage Story, Star Wars) and Marion Cotillard (Flesh & Bone, La Vie en rose) to play the main characters of this musical filmed in English. The story was born from an original idea by American duo Sparks formed by the Mael brothers, emblematic figure of alternative music since the 1970s. Sparks also wrote the soundtrack for the film for which they won the Cannes Soundtrack Award (tied with Rone who composed the soundtrack for the film Les Olympiades by Jacques Audiard). The lyrics of the many sequences sung in the film were written by Ron Mael, Russell Mael & LC.
Distributed in Canada by MK2 | MILE END, ANNETTE will be in theatres on August 6 in its original English version and in its original version subtitled in French.
