The feature film LE GUIDE DE LA FAMILLE PARFAIT, directed by Ricardo Trogi (1991, 1987, 1981), topped the Quebec box office this weekend. With revenues of $ 227,150 in three days, according to figures from the firm Comscore Box Office Essentials, the film is thus placed ahead of big American guns such as Black Widow and Space Jam: A New Legacy. In theatres since Wednesday, July 14, LE GUIDE DE LA FAMILLE PARFAIT will very soon reach one million dollars with a cumulative of $965,953.

“On behalf of the film crew (and mine), I would like to sincerely thank the audience who saw it in the cinema. It is obvious that the results at the box office make us happy, especially knowing that the cinemas can be filled with only 50 to 60% of their real capacity,” says Louis Morissette.  “Since the first day of release, we have received hundreds of messages from parents and teenagers testifying to the discussions and reflections generated by the film. And this is certainly the most beautiful reward for a producer, writer and actor! “, he adds.

Directed by Ricardo Trogi based on an original idea by Louis Morisette, the comedy features an impressive cast with Louis Morissette (The Fall of the American Empire), Émilie Bierre (Les Nôtres), Catherine Chabot (Liar), Isabelle Guérard (Le Coupable), Gilles Renaud (Les Mauvaises herbes), Louise Portal (Les Loups), Alexandre Goyette (King Dave)and for the first time on screen Xavier Lebel.  The duo’s second big-screen collaboration behind the hit film LE MIRAGE (2015), LE GUIDE DE LA FAMILLE PARFAIT is directed by Ricardo Trogi (1991), written by Louis Morissette, Jean-François Léger and François Avard, and produced by Louis Morissette, Félize Frappier and Louis-Philippe Drolet.

Are we in an “overparenting” society? The film “LE GUIDE DE LA FAMILLE PARFAITis intended to be a mainstream comedy that is funny and raises the question of the difficulty and complexity of raising children in a society based largely on performance, being raised by parents who, wanting to give the best to their children, end up suffocating them. Because it is dangerous, wanting to make improved versions of ourselves.
