The brand new sneaker is the duo’s first collaborative product launch

Having first announced their collaborative partnership in early 2020, adidas Originals and the multi-hyphenate, boundary-pushing creative, Kerwin Frost, return to present their inaugural product launch. Inspired by the footwear worn by clowns and sporting mascots, the ‘Superstuffed’ Superstar sneaker was originally conceived during Frost’s early meetings with the adidas team and has now been brought to life as a shoe that appears to be five sizes bigger than its actual size but is perfectly padded to fit the wearer’s foot.
“My first shoe with adidas is an absolute masterpiece. We completely changed the genetics of an iconic shoe – maybe the most important shoe of all time. And this is art. This is special. This has never been done before,” says Frost. “We’ve seen the platform sneaker wave but never just a BIG SHOE. I hope these bring joy and a smile to people’s faces. The fact that this shoe exists is a symbol that anything is possible. The idea sounded crazy at first, but here we are. It’s beautiful! Shoutout to the adidas development team for figuring out a way to make these wearable. Clown shoes for the masses!”
The Kerwin Frost ‘Superstuffed’ silhouette itself features all the iconic trappings of the original adidas Superstar, including a white leather upper, a rubber shell-toe, gold foil details, and black stripes. The eye-catching look is then capped off with the inclusion of co-branded sock liners and arrives packaged in a custom co-branded box boasting a graphic outline of Frost’s face on the lid.
Known for wearing items that are proportionally and comically larger than life, Frost’s effervescent personality has been brought to life through a playful campaign film which sees him towering above a miniature hand-crafted cityscape.
Launching with aplomb on August 26th, the adidas Originals and Kerwin Frost ‘Superstuffed’ Superstar sneaker is available exclusively on Confirmed during Members week which runs between August 23rd and 29th.
