Magnum (played by Jay Hernandez) and Higgins (played by Perdita Weeks) continue working together on cases this season. Though they are like oil and water they do make a great detective team. Their cases involve blackmail, trying to get a plane from a drug cartel, locate a missing brother, a hostage taking in a federal building, and riding out a hurricane in the La Mariana with two for hire killers. It seems like there is never a dull moment in the paradise of Hawaii for these two.
Now, this is not the best thing on television. There, that is out of the way. Once you accept that then you might find yourself inexplicably drawn to the redux of Magnum P.I. Why? Well, because it is predictable, filled with fun characters and occasionally funny. Plus there is the whole Magnum and Higgins thing. It is easy watching and like easy listening music, it stays course in the middle of the road. Not trying to be edgy or daring. Just giving fans what they expect from a show like this. Just sit back, turn off your brain, pop some popcorn, and put the show on. I guarantee that before you know it a couple of episodes will have passed by and you will enjoy them. Feel-good entertainment along with the beautiful scenery of Hawaii.
