“Futura’s filmmakers travel around their country, holding a microphone up to Italian youth, and depicting teenagers for whom hopes and uncertainties exist side by side. Futura encourages us to think about what’s next, and even to reinvent a world that seems to have no future, but that the young generation is not ready to abandon.”
Futura will have its Quebec premiere on Wednesday, November 10 at 7 pm at the Cineplex Odeon Quartier Latin (by invitation only). The film will then be available online from November 14 to 17 on the festival platform.

“In this first full-length film, filmmaker and photographer Joannie Lafrenière paints a portrait of Gabor Szilasi, a great photographer of Hungarian origin who has been based in Montreal since the late 1950s. The director revisits the fascinating career and history of this nonagenarian with a creative background of profound artistic richness, and captures, through six decades, the poetry of everyday life.”
Gabor will be screened at the closing of the festival in the presence of Gabor Szilasi, Joannie Lafrenière and her team on Saturday, November 20 at 7 pm at the Cinéma du Musée. The film will then be available online from November 22 to 25.
