FRANCIS OF DELIRIUM SHARE NEW SINGLE “ALL LOVE”
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR SUPPORTING THE DISTRICTS IN 2022
HEAR THEIR LAST SINGLE “COME OUT & PLAY
Francis of Delirium, who recently announced their first U.S. tour supporting The Districts in 2022, is back with a new single today. Their new single, “All Love”, comes on the heels of the band’s first foray into shoegaze on “Come Out & Play”. The single comes as the band sets off on their first UK tour, starting this Friday in Brighton, which includes a sold-out London gig.
A Gen Zer redrawing 90s guitar music, at the core of Francis of Delirium is Jana Bahrich’s restless energy and her desire to connect with listeners in a way that acts like Car Seat Headrest, The Breeders, Sufjan Stevens, and Pearl Jam have with her. With grunge a noticeable influence (unsurprising as chief collaborator Chris Hewett hails from Seattle and almost three decades her senior, was on the scene at that time), ‘All Love’ finds her love for My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Creation-era Slowdive creep in, helping to add an intensity to match the song’s lyrics while she keeps the driving guitars and pop choruses of her previous works.
Mixed by Jolyon Thomas (Royal Blood, Slaves) and mastered by Joe Lambert (Sharon Van Etten, Deerhunter), Bahrich says ‘All Love’ is “about dissociating from what your present moment really looks like. Sonically, I wanted the song to sort of reflect that and feel like a big wave of sound that sweeps you up and carries you away from that reality and anything that feels painful to think about. That suspended feeling is meant to be shown via the looping video I made to go alongside the song, which highlights that feeling of floating then falling away.”
Francis of Delirium released their Wading EP this past spring on Dalliance Recordings and saw incredible press from the likes of Stereogum, The FADER, Paste, Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, 6Music, Radio 1, KEXP, NPR and more, are. The band will be supporting The Districts in 2022 and traversing the U.S. with stops in Toronto and Montreal. Find those tour dates below.
