ALONE by Paul Tom in theatres November 12

The film will open in theatres on November 12 at Cinéma Beaubien in Montreal and at Cinéma Le Clap Ste-Foy in Quebec City. It will also be presented at Cinéma Public (from November 27), at Cinéma Princesse – Cinédit Rivière-du-Loup (December 6) and at Paraloeil in Rimouski (December 7). Other regional screenings will be announced shortly.

The Quebec premiere of the film will take place during the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) on Friday, November 12 at 6 p.m. at Cinéma du Musée, followed by a round-table discussion hosted by Paul Tom and the three protagonists of the film. A screening event will also take place on Saturday, November 13 at 7 p.m. at Cinéma Beaubien.

Let’s recall that Alone will open the 35^th Festival international de cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA) on Thursday, November 11, with the film crew in attendance. It will be broadcast on Télé-Québec on December 1^st at 8 p.m.

Synopsis

Scared for their lives, Afshin, Alain and Patricia left their home countries, alone. As unaccompanied minors, they had to start over in Canada, in hopes of a better life. Mixing real-life footage and animated sequences, Alone is a tribute to resilience: how can children manage to reinvent themselves in a new country, after having left everything behind, even their parents?
