The Addams Family, who are not your typical clan, are over the moon when a man arrives at their door claiming to be long lost Uncle Fester (played by Christopher Lloyd). Gomez (played by Raul Julia) has missed his brother terribly. But Morticia (played by Angelica Huston) is not quite as happy as she believes the man to be a fraud as he cannot seem to remember the simplest details about Fester’s life. And she is right as soon, with the help of a lawyer (played by Dan Hedaya), the Addams family finds themselves evicted from their own home. That plus the fact that the Addams’ fortune is now in jeopardy swings Gomez into action.

Your typical live action family film with some differences. First, it is about a family which is unlike any you have run into. This is horror done in a funny and not truly scary way. Meaning that even the youngest members of your clan as well as those who do not traditionally enjoy horror will not only be able to watch it, but they will love it.

Way back in 1991 this film came out in the theatres. It was a redux of the popular 1960s television show, The Addams Family. There are some differences from the series but not enough to turn off long-time fans. Director Barry Sonnenfeld has made sure that it stays true to its origins. Plus much of the casting is bang on. Like who could be thought of as more of Wednesday than a young Christina Ricci? Who could be the dark but sexy Morticia as Angelica Huston does? Finally, who could be as suave as Gomex like Raul Julia?

Paramount Home Entertainment brings back this beloved film in crystal clear and rich 4K.
