LAYER recently designed a meditation headset for US start-up Resonate, which launched in December 2021 at Design Miami. The headset features an LED light matrix that allows powerful meditation to be attained simply and effortlessly, regardless of the level of experience. In a world where we are increasingly exposed to stressors – from the recent pandemic, to constant screen time – this kind of immersive meditation is more important and relevant than ever before. The welcoming design of the Resonate headset sets a new standard for meditation, with a calming, minimal design language that encourages a restful state of mind. The exterior casing features a flowing geometry that closely follows the contours of the face allowing for complete immersion, while the progressive, futuristic interior houses the high-tech LED matrix display.

LAYER recently launched Triada, a trio of tables for Spanish furniture brand Andreu World. The die-cast aluminium tables take their name from their signature tripod-style leg, and are designed to work in a variety of hospitality settings. The collection includes a stackable bar table, a stackable dining table, and a height adjustable occasional table. The soft visual language of each piece evokes a crafted quality that belies the industrial nature of aluminium. Triada is part of an ongoing collaboration between LAYER and Andreu World, which began with the award-winning Hula barstools.

When the Capsula Mini smart assistant for Russian online social media and social networking service VK launched last year, it was available in two colours – dove grey and charcoal. Recently, the compact smart assistant received a colourful makeover with three bold new colours – blue, orange, and green. Capsula Mini features a cost-effective seven-segment display that not only shows the time, but also expresses the various emotions of the voice assistant Marusya. These new colourways give Capsula Mini even more character.
