Black and Blue Matters Postponed Until Next Season
The Segal Centre presentation of Black Theatre Workshop’s production of Black and Blue Matters will not run as advertised this winter. Despite their best efforts with ongoing work and rehearsal, due to the sudden changes in timeline caused by COVID closures and reopenings, as well as the demanding reality of producing a new musical, it will be impossible to put on this new show at the moment. Out of the best interests for the team and for audiences, and their commitment to the important subject matter, Black and Blue Matters will be postponed until the Segal Centre’s 2022-2023 season. The Segal Centre is committed to ensuring that artists’ contracts are honoured. Segal Centre thanks the CALQ for their continued support for the theatre industry which has helped them to protect artists from lost wages. They hope to see you all in large numbers next season for this very special show.

The Segal Centre looks forward to welcoming you back to the theatre soon for the English premiere of April Fools and other special events!

Gift an experience this Valentine’s Day! April Fools (the new title of One Night in April) is a hot, 18+ rock-cabaret that originally came from the mind of Israeli superstar Keren Peles – seriously, imagine if Céline Dion wrote a musical! Adapted for Canadian audiences by Akiva Romer-Segal from a translation by Shelly Ben Shachar, it is a sensual and stripped-down musical rendezvous that you’ll definitely want to give into. It’s the perfect romantic night at the theatre with your partner or your friends! |
