Streaming now on Prime Video, animated series The Legend of Vox Machina features some recognizable voices like Tony Hale, David Tennant, Dominic Monaghan, Gina Torres, Rory McCann, and rapper Logic. Gamers out there will be thrilled with the series being made. The series is based on a Dungeons & Dragons game.
Whether you are a gamer or not (though gamers will get a little more out of it) you should find the series fun and entertaining. The first couple of episodes were a little slow, but it certainly picked up after that. Besides the action-adventure stuff, there are plenty of laughs. A rather quirky and irreverent style of humour. All the characters are different and fun to get to know. As a warning, this is definitely for adults as there is plenty of swearing, violence/gore and even some pretty graphic sex scenes.
Technically the series is a solid one. The anime style animation looks great. No matter what the characters are doing – fighting, laughing or just talking.
The story moves fairly quickly over the course of the first season’s six episodes. Follow a ragtag group that becomes a band of mercenaries. though to be honest, these mercenaries for hire are focused on easy money and booze. They have to spring into action when the kingdom of Exandria is under threat. It seems like they are the only ones who can save it. Soon they are fighting on the side of justice.
