The 16th edition of the OFFTA, live art festival, presented from May 27th to June 5th, 2022, as well as the program’s unveiling that will take place on April 21st 2022.
After presenting the last two editions in a form adapted to the pandemic context, the OFFTA returns this year to its (re)materialized form – like a breath of spring air allowing the public to reconnect with the effervescence of the festival experience. This return will be an opportunity to gather around dazzling works put forward by the latest generation of interdisciplinary artists.
The festival’s programming will feature a series of indoor and outdoor performances, presented through different neighborhoods of Montreal, which will take place not only in its theaters, but its libraries, phone booths and green spaces. More than twenty artists will present projects filled with a defiant light, or overflowing with hope, while others will face and confront the ugly, the monstrous and the unacceptable. Festival-goers will be discovering up-and-coming artists, impatient to share their work. Gatherings, festive events, meetings for professionals, and international collaborations will complete the program of this 2022’s edition.

PROGRAM UNVEILING
The unveiling of the program will take place on Thursday, April 21st 2022, in a 5@7 format at LA SERRE’s new space, located in the Ahuntsic district near Nicolas-Viel Park. Anyone is welcome by RSVP to our waterside location and, if the weather is good, part of the festivities will take place outdoors. This will be the perfect opportunity to discover this year’s artists, as well as the organization’s new studios, which host the development of projects supported by LA SERRE.
SOLIDARITY PASSES
In a desire to improve access to the festival, the OFFTA reiterates its philanthropic model of solidarity passes, which was implemented in the initial context of the pandemic. In order to promote inclusiveness, a pass giving access to all festival activities will be available to festivalgoers, who will have the possibility to add a donation to the amount of the pass in order to support the festival, according to their means and ability. This initiative broadens access to the festival while promoting a more collective involvement. We are thus engaging the public’s participation in promoting emergent art, since the third of the box-office revenues will be donated to the artists to improve their fees.
