15th edition of the flagship cultural event of Montreal’s fall season

The World Press Photo Montreal exhibition team has announced its return to Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal from August 31 to October 2, following a two-year absence.

15th edition in Montreal

Montreal’s flagship cultural event of the fall season will once again showcase the year’s prizewinning photographs, as selected by a jury that sifted through nearly 65,000 submissions by 4,066 photojournalists hailing from 130 countries.

About the World Press Photo Montreal Exhibition

Often dubbed the Oscars of photojournalism, the World Press Photo is the most prestigious international press photography contest. Presented since 2005, the Montreal edition is one of the most popular on the planet.

In line with the World Press Photo’s new approach, an independent jury of regional and global experts selected the regional entries for 2022. Divided into four categories (Singles, Stories, Long-Term Projects, and Open Format), the prizewinning photographs will be announced in Amsterdam on April 7. The World Press Photo Montreal exhibition receives support from ICI RDI, La Presse, and the SDC Vieux-Montréal.
