A series offered free of charge on the Cinéma Public platform
On the occasion of its first anniversary, Cinéma Public is proud to present its first original creation: Cinépistolaire, a series of films created by Cinéma Public to connect Canadian filmmakers. This unique project is perfectly in line with the organization’s mission, which is to humanize the cinematic experience with unifying events, meetings and discussions with artists, and to stand out with multidisciplinary, inclusive and community programming.
With that in mind, Cinéma Public invited five duos of Canadian filmmakers to create short epistolary films: Caroline Monnet and Carol Nguyen, Lina Rodríguez and Jorge Lozano, Trevor Anderson and Eva Cvijanović, Shannon Walsh and Julien Elie, as well as Nour Ouayda and Rhayne Vermette. From these exchanges of filmed letters, a unique cinematic space is born, where each person’s voice and gaze simultaneously listen to the other and unveil the self.
These correspondences are shared as of Tuesday, April 5, at the rate of one per week. They are offered free of charge to moviegoers on the Cinéma Public online platform.
