ALL SUMMER AT PARC JEAN-DRAPEAU

Piknic Électronik unveiled the soundtrack of its 19th edition. From May 22 to October 2, Montrealers’ favorite summer ritual will bring together behemoths and young artists from the Quebec and international electro scene. For this new season, it is to the beats of a joint program male/female that will vibrate Parc Jean-Drapeau, with no less than 18 events and a hundred of performances throughout the summer!
A remarkable electronik vintage
The worthy representatives of French music, Breakbot & Irfane, will open the festival on Sunday, May 22. They will be accompanied by the Frenchman Darius and the Montreal duo Voyage Funktastique while the collective Qualité De Luxe will storm the second stage with a set by Poirier, KYOU and Sugarface Belfo who will follow each other on the turntables. The festivities will continue the next day with the progressive house of Hernan Cattaneo who, for the occasion, will be at the helm of the Videotron main stage all day. The disco-house of Salome the Cat, Sierra and Victor Rodriguez will make the pikniqueurs dance in the wooded environment. On May 29, legendary Detroit band Octave One will perform on the main stage while on the other stage, Bristol breakbeat rising star Batu will thrill the crowds. CMD, Montrealer Claire, Lis Dalton and Boomer Baby will open the party on both stages that day. On June 5, Claude Vonstroke, head of the Dirtybird label, will ignite Parc Jean-Drapeau while on the other side of the site, the Montreal collective Rawmoments will be at the turntables with the minimal house of Paolo Rocco, Lessi S. B2B Pijynman and Shirlee. Then, on June 12, not one but two Montreal collectives will compliment each other. On the one hand, OCTOV will feature French DJ Anetha accompanied by BitterCaress and Inside Blur. At the same time, La Rama will dominate the second stage with Montrealers Gene Tellem and Kris Guilty mixing in B2B all day. Finally, for this last weekend of June, it is with a 100% Quebec program that festival-goers will be able to celebrate Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 26: on the program, the trance sounds of TDJ and the electro-rap of High Klassified who will be joined by the duo of Montreal musicians and DJs Clickbait as well as by VR Chads, Tallandskiinny, Nana Zen and Charles Cozy.
In July and August, the pace will remain just as strong. On July 3, Ukrainian techno star DJ Nastia, as well as Dust-e-1, Perel, Esther, and Rebogene will perform in front of a Montreal audience. The following weekend, July 10, British DJ and techno music producer Rebekah, Wallis, Omar Hamdi, a live performance by Leo Pol, Heidy P and Balou were added to the lineup. On July 17, music lovers will be delighted to find the original and amazing productions of the Australian Mall Grab, Martyn Bootyspoon, M0llygum, The Holy, the co-founder of Shift Radio, Audrey Bélanger and Donotstealmyname. On July 24, Ellen Allien, an icon of an entire generation, will electrify the crowd alongside Ledisko, while the XYZ label will be in charge of the second stage with David Orin, from the New York deep and melodic scene, as well as Mitch Oliver and Laure. On August 14, on the sidelines of the festivities surrounding Pride, the event will continue to delight its piknicers: the Montreal queer collective Slut Island invites DOSS, Syana and Digital Polyglot for the occasion, alongside British electronic underground artist Maya Jane Coles who will be joined by Montrealer Guillaume Michaud. and Ian Jackman. Finally, Detroit house and techno legend Omar S will perform on August 28 as will Regularfantasy and Farren Laen while MUTEK will invite to Piknic Debbie Doe, Personal Demons and a special guest!
The summer will continue throughout the month of September thanks to Piknic Électronik starting with the traditional collaboration with the MEG festival and the mythical set of Misstress Barbara on September 4. On the same day, Alex Pycke, Berlin-based Peruvian producer and composer Sofia Kourtesis, Devo B, and DJ Frog will also join the party. The next day, Monday, September 5, festival-goers will be able to celebrate Labour Day at Parc Jean-Drapeau in the company of artists from the English label Anjunadeep such as Tinlicker and the Montrealer Sync, or with the progressive and melodic house of Hyunji-A. On the woods stage side, we will find, with the collaboration of RAW, the techno of Sara Landry, the futuristic sound of BXTR, Raumm (Live) and finally Xavier. On September 11, the German DJ Boys Noize will be at the turntables accompanied by the Detroit electro current Jensen Interceptor, in addition, Mayday, Sweely, Ēmikkē, and Mok T. CRi will be at Piknic Électronik for its one and only DJ set of the summer on September 18 alongside yehno, Stacey Sexton, India Jordan, Skesa and Leëf. On September 25, Piknic gives carte blanche to the Parisian collective POSSESSION to animate the second stage with Parfait, AADJA and softcoresoft. Job Jobse and Elias Mazian will complete the program of the day to the sound of their house style and euphoric trance. Finally, to end the season in style, Piknic Électronik will welcome Polish DJ VTSS, UNIIQU3 and Jelz. Montreal collective FrontRite to take control of the second stage with Kris Tin, Unlimited Free Guestlist and Molyness.
The presale of single tickets, reserved for subscribers of the Piknic Électronik newsletter, began on Wednesday, April 13, for the 18 regular events. Tickets were made available to the public the next day, Thursday, April 14, on the website of Piknic Électronik. Season passes are also always available.
OfF Piknic: more than 15 spectacular events in addition throughout the season
As announced a few weeks ago, Piknic Électronik will offer several OfF Piknic evenings bearing the signature of the greatest. None other than KAYTRANADA will open the ball on May 19 and 20; London-based audiovisual sensation Boiler Room on two stages on July 2, with Armand Van Helden headlining; or the deep house of All Day I Dream on September 17. Several artists initially programmed as part of Igloofest 2022 will also be present: Maceo Plex (May 27), Diplo (June 3), Claptone (June 11), Dillon Francis (September 2), Fatboy Slim (September 3), Bonobo (September 10), and Richie Hawtin (September 24). New and exclusive this year at ofF Piknic: a Videotron VIP area will welcome up to 600 people on site.
