A FESTIVE RETURN FOR LES JARDINS GAMELIN :
LAUNCH OF ITS 8th SEASON ON THE 26TH OF MAY
WITH THE BROOKS, DJ SUGARFACE BELFO, FANFARE JARRY, AND TITELAINE
The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership is giving a taste of the thrilling summer that awaits the public at the Jardins Gamelin from the 26th of May to the 2nd of October 2022, free of charge at Place Émilie-Gamelin. The 8th season will be launched in a big way during a festive and unifying opening evening on the 26th of May with the group The Brooks and several other energizing musical performances that will reflect the image of the city and its diversity. Take out your summer clothes and find your sunglasses, because the Snack bar will be open, the large terrace will be set up and a rich program will signal the beginning of summer.
LET THE PARTY BEGIN !
Thursday, May 26, from 5 p.m., the Gardens begins with DJ Sugarface BelFo and his fiery rhythms from all over the world, which will set the dancing tone for the rest of the evening. DJ Sugarface BelFo will be followed by La Fanfare Jarry strolling around the site from 6:30 p.m., to accompany dinnertime with traditional Balkan music. To kick off the concert portion of the evening, at 8 p.m., the duo Titelaine will be there with a refreshing electro-pop sound. Finally, at 9:15 p.m., The Brooks will set the stage on fire with its powerful groove machine and electrifying funk.
URBAN AGRICULTURE, MUSIC AND GAMES: GARDEN CLASSICS ARE BACK!
Every day, free and sustainable programming will be offered at Les Jardins Gamelin. Urban agriculture will be everywhere in this place of life, and Sentier Urbain will take great care of the thematic gardens, the greenhouse and the butterflies, in addition, to offering its popular workshops. At all times, festive and diversified music, with a focus on Francophone music and world music, will be provided by Radio-Canada OHdio. Visitors will discover two open-air exhibitions, one by the Société de développement social de Ville-Marie and the next by BAnQ, which will dress up the south of the square during the summer. Finally, games will be in the spotlight every day with the return of Giant Games and long-time partner Randolph! The latter will be in the Gardens every Sunday afternoon with its animators to guide you, its game clubs and its thematic quizzes, all this as part of the theme T’as de beaux jeux. All details of the program will be unveiled on the 26th of May.
THE RETURN OF THE SNACKS
The Casse-croûte and its bar, on the terrace of the Jardins Gamelin, welcome the passionate street food team, Les Survenants. They will offer a menu loaded with classics reinvented with Gamelin flair and have up their sleeves multiple culinary surprises during the summer season. In the middle of a colourful and gourmet backdrop designed by the multidisciplinary design workshop EN TEMPS ET LIEU, the atmosphere will be perfect for a lunch break, a 5 to 7 or even to stretch out the hot summer days in the heart of Montreal!
