La Maison Théâtre has unveiled its next season, which promises to be without intermission. Composed of 15 shows aimed at young people aged 2 to 17, this vast 2022-2023 program will run from September 23, 2022 to June 18, 2023. From dance to theatre, music and clownish play, the next program promises to be rich in emotions. A season synonymous with openness to the world, to others, to oneself.

LE MUSÉE DE LA FAMILLE
L’eau du bain
From 8 years old – September 23 to 25, 2022
In this performance featuring a real family, L’eau du bain knocks down the fourth wall and questions, with the audience, family ties. They invite spectators into the intimacy of everyday life shared between children and their parents. Biographical performance in which the family emerges as a unique work that unfolds in this museum with great pleasure and freedom.
TONNE DE BRIQUES
Ages 8 to 12 – November 17 to 27, 2022
A true door behind the scenes, Tonne de briques is a large playground where a mother, father and daughter have fun transposing their own roles to create a play. Between fiction and documentary, the play blurs the boundary between reality and imagination. Real life becomes theatre and this family reveals the sometimes chaotic beauty of the bonds that unite its members.
BEATING CHOIR/CHŒUR BATTANT

12 years and older – April 14 to 23, 2023
Director Marie-Ève Huot and Belgian choreographer Zoë Demoustier join forces for the very first time. Together, they bring together three young Quebecers and three young Flemish in this snapshot of society. These six teenagers will storm the stage to expose their view of the contemporary world. They will be the voice of a resilient and persevering generation.

It’s the return of the first man and woman to the age of online shopping! Clownish theatre that deals with overconsumption.
L’Illusion, Théâtre de marionnettes
3 to 6 years old – December 27, 2022 to January 8, 2023
L’illusion, Théâtre de marionnettes, presents its new show Archipel. In this delicate and poetic tale, flesh-and-blood characters and a constellation of inventive puppets mingle.

Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke
2 to 7 years old – October 1 to 16, 2022
A rock concert for toddlers conceived of by Karine Sauvé and Érika Tremblay-Roy, Le Potager hosts a greenhouse on stage in which a singer, a guitarist and a drummer are gradually revealed. Children let themselves be won over by the music that can be downloaded before or after the show.
CELLE QUI MARCHE LOIN
Ombre Folles and Cie du RoiZIZO
10 to 14 years old – October 19 to 30, 2022
International co-production, Ombres Folles and the Cie du RoiZIZO present this resolutely feminist theatre show. They invite the public to go back in time to the 1800s to discover the story of Marie Iowa Dorion, a pioneer and forgotten heroine.
From 12 years old – November 1 to 6
Teens will be served this fall with J’ai jamais…, a solo production filled with magical realism carrying the torments of adolescence at arm’s length, in which Éléonore Loiselle occupies the stage in a masterful way.
LETTRES DE LA VILLE PEINTURE
3 to 7 years old – November 9 to 13, 2022
An intimate, poetic and playful show, Lettres de la ville peinture is a work by Arash Badrtalei and Mojtaba Moaf. The play benefited from the program The Chambre d’ami·es, which aims to support the next generation and diversity in theatre for young audiences.
BRONKS HOTELS and Tuning People (Brussels)
From 8 years old – February 2 to 5, 2023
Landing straight from Belgium, Rita is a dance-theatre work typical of Flemish creation. This funny, biting and sensitive show questions the way seniors look at them. A subject that could not be more topical, treated with empathy and humour.
PAYSAGE DE PAPIER
Creations Estelle Clareton
4 to 10 years – February 8 to 26, 2023
Estelle Clareton’s most recent creation puts three dancers, a woman and two men, in a set and costumes made of paper. A mixture of dance, theatre and visual arts, the paintings follow one another and draw a captivating dramaturgical line.
9 to 12 years old – March 7 to 19, 2023
Sisters Sirens is proof that it is possible to address the issue of trans identity while living a positive theatrical experience. Libre Course invites the public to the birth of a friendship between two marginalized children.
TOQAQ MECIMI PUWIHT/DELPHINE RÊVE TOUJOURS
Production Ondinnok and Théâtre de la Vieille 17
4 to 8 years old – March 28 to April 9, 2023
An incursion into the mythological and aesthetic universe of the Wolastoqiyik nation, Toqaq Mecimi Puwiht/Delphine always dreams is a work that leads to reflection on the memory of transmission. An initiatory journey that will make children’s hearts beat.
ALICE DE L’AUTRE CÔTÉ
Théâtre Tout à Trac
6 to 12 years old – May 10 to 28, 2023
After the huge success of Alice in Wonderland, Tout à Trac returns with this free adaptation inspired by the famous tale of the same name. Five actors and actresses play several roles in this tribute to the world of theatre.
SOUDAIN LES ÎLES
2 to 6 years old – June 7 to 18, 2023
With this new creation, Les Incomplètes combines with their immersive aesthetic approach the plastic work of artist Laurence Petitpas to create a captivating visual, sound and puppet universe.
In addition to families, the Maison Théâtre will welcome, throughout the year, elementary and secondary schools, as well as preschool groups as part of its programming and through its accessibility program. Always with the aim of making the performing arts accessible to as many people as possible, three performances will be sensorially adapted (RSA) for the family audience. These shows will be aimed at individuals living with autism spectrum disorder, sensory integration disorder, learning disability, anxiety disorder or who are simply not comfortable with the conventions of traditional theatre. The sound and visual atmosphere of the show as well as the reception will be adapted to create a calm and inclusive environment.
A LIVING HOME, A COMPLETE EXPERIENCE
The Maison Théâtre is pleased to take full possession of its place and to propose, for each of the shows presented, an activity related to the scenic proposal in order to deepen the artistic experience. Exhibitions, crafts, participatory installations and fun projects will be added to the program during the season.
