The Spark Computer Graphics Society (Spark CG), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and fostering the computer graphics industry, announced that its hybrid Oscar®-Accredited festival, SPARK ANIMATION 2022 will be held from 27th October to 30th November, with both in-person and online programming.
The SPARK ANIMATION 2022 is Western Canada’s largest celebration of animation, encompassing everything from the roots of the medium to the advanced technologies available to studios and independent filmmakers across the globe.
The 14th edition of SPARK ANIMATION will be a hybrid event, offering online programming available to stream worldwide from 27 October to 30 November 2022. This year’s extended programming is powered by Eventive, a technology platform designed to enhance online presentations.
In-person programming will be available from 27 to 30 October 2022 in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. This will include festival screenings, talks, a career fair, and networking opportunities.
The Festival celebrates animation in all its forms and styles, including animated feature films, short films, student films, commercials, music videos, game cinematics and trailers, and many more. Accepted styles include computer animation (2D and 3D), traditional, as well as stop-motion animation.
Oscar®-Accreditation
SPARK ANIMATION is Oscar®-accredited!
The winner of the “Best in Show” prize will be eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without a standard theatrical run (provided the film complies with the Academy’s rules).
