local businesses and the return of Sapore Del Sole beer
The Piccola Festival starts June 17!
The Société de développement commercial (SDC) of Little Italy invites the public to the new edition of the Piccola Festival to be held on June 17, 18 and 19. The festive weekend will include musical performances, family activities, booths, involvement from local businesses and the return of Sapore Del Sole, Little Italy’s tribute beer.
Starting late afternoon on Friday, June 17, Saint-Laurent Boulevard will serve as a festive, lively destination for all food lovers, from pizza to haute cuisine. The famous Montreal thoroughfare will be pedestrian-only between Saint-Zotique and Jean-Talon, giving visitors of all ages the chance to stroll through the street and enjoy the music, activities and delicious food. Here’s a closer look at what’s in store!
REGGAE, HIP-HOP, ELECTROPOP, ITALIAN WORLD MUSIC…
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
On June 17, festival-goers will enjoy singer-songwriter THAÏS and her gentle but lively pop music, along with a dose of reggae from the group INUS ASO; on June 18, there will be performances by the popular Canadian rockabilly group FILLY & THE FLOPS, rapper EMMA BEKO and her alternative hip-hop with a touch of grunge, and, to close out the evening, the mesmerizing LA BRONZE with her charisma and danceable electropop; finally, on June 19, little ones will be delighted to see the endearing characters of KID KOUNA, the children’s project by Keith Kouna, and the festival will close with none other than MARCO CALLIARI!
FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19, thanks to the collaboration of Diffusion FAR, there will be various family activities, including face painting for children, giant soap bubbles and circus workshops for all (ball juggling, bowling and ring toss, poi, hula hoops, diabolos and flower sticks) and the clownish performances Mario Has an Incredible Talent and Plouf!
YOGA, SALSA & BACHATA, FOR ALL!
All weekend long, in addition to their booths, to encourage local purchases, businesses in the area will offer festival-goers a range of activities such as: yoga classes, salsa & bachata classes, face painting for kids and many other surprises!
Let’s meet at Parc Dante on Saturday, June 18 from 2 and 3 pm for a joyful yoga practice led by Marie-Hélène Tapin and Mélanie Charest of the studio Espace Mā yoga. People are asked to just bring their yoga mat, zenitude and comfortable clothes. On site, a contest will allow you to win free yoga sessions. More energetic, Accento studios teach free social dance classes (salsa and bachata) between 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings at the intersection of Belanger and Saint-Laurent streets. An opportunity to dance in the street!
THE REFRESHING SAPORE DEL SOLE RETURNS

Summer also marks the return of Little Italy’s tribute beer, the refreshing Sapore Del Sole, brewed by Microbrasserie Saint-Houblon. Sapore Del Sole will be available in stores starting June 15 and confirm the neighbourhood’s status as the Ultimate Gourmet Destination!
