Notre fleuve, notre musique features film soundtracks
and TV series from here written by Quebec composers

To mark the Fête nationale du Québec, a series of free concerts Notre Fleuve, notre musique will be presented from June 17 to 22 in 14 cities and municipalities located along the St. Lawrence River, in partnership with the Government of Quebec.

The tour will travel the heritage and historical road of the Chemin du Roy. “Quebecers will rediscover their culture, their music, their territory and the road that leads them to the river,” enthused Denis Chabot, producer, artistic director, and bassist, behind this cultural initiative.

Auditory pleasures and visual splendours
Spectators are invited to public spaces showcasing the beauty of our majestic body of water. The tour explores the most beautiful parks in Quebec, from Beauharnois to La Malbaie, passing by the famous landscapes offered by the river in Île-d’Orléans, the panoramic view of the parks of Verchères, Trois-Rivières and Lanoraie, and the unique atmosphere of Baie-Saint-Paul beach.

The Cobalt Quartet will perform soundtracks from local films and TV series under the theme of music on screen. This group of seasoned musicians is made up of Guillaume Villeneuve and Diane Bayard on the violin, Justin Almazan on the viola and François Leclerc on the cello. In the company of Trois-Rivières pianist Steven Massicotte, they present pieces that will appeal to a wide audience as well as catchy melodies.

This 45-minute concert will salute the composers who have marked the music of our small and big screens, including François Dompierre, Jorane, Michel Corriveau, Michel Cusson, Jean-Michel Blais and Alexandra Stréliski. His paintings will highlight Quebec cinematographic music and tunes from television classics such as Les pays d’en haut, Séraphin, La passion d’Augustine, etc.

A 100% Quebec scenic innovation
Each performance will take place on an unprecedented platform called La Caravane, developed in 2020, at the start of the pandemic. This amplified, lit and covered mobile stage is designed and manufactured in Quebec and will offer a variety of options for outdoor concerts. The artists perform there in a natural setting and with a high-quality sound.
