TIMESCAPE (TIMESCAPE – BACK TO THE DINOSAURS), written and directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas will in theatres on August 19th. Presented as a world premiere at the Fantasia Festival on July 31, this adventure and science fiction film features Jason and Lara, two cunning children who find themselves embarked on an exceptional adventure in spite of themselves.
” I wanted to make a Quebec film that we rarely see: dinosaurs, robots and spaceships and that is perfect for the whole family and that carries a message of hope, trust and friendship,” said producer David-Alexandre Coiteux of Fullum Films.
Jason, a bright but misunderstood young boy, discovers a mysterious spacecraft that crashed into a nearby forest. Inside is Lara, a curious girl who found the alien ship moments before. As they attempt to maneuver it, they are propelled into the age of dinosaurs, at the beginning of their extinction. Jason and Lara discovered a time machine! Assisted by M.I.A, the intelligent onboard computer, our young adventurers must at all costs repair the ship to avoid the imminent impact of an asteroid, and return to the 21st century. Then begins a race against time for the survival of our two heroes.
A veteran visual effects director, Montrealer Aristomenis Tsirbas has collaborated with James Cameron on the special effects for Titanic, My Favourite Martian (Disney), and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Paramount/CBS). For his second feature film, after Battle for Terra awarded at the Ottawa International Animation Festival, the director wanted to film TIMESCAPE – BACK TO THE DINOSAURS right here in Montreal and in Rawdon. A prehistoric adventure that transforms Quebec’s landscapes, for the pleasure of young and old alike.
