Film Noir au Canal has unveiled the next cult crime film to be presented on the banks of the Lachine Canal.  Kiss Me Deadly (1955) by Robert Aldrich, based on the novel by Mickey Spillane, will be screened free of charge this Sunday, August 7 at Square Saint-Patrick, at the corner of Wellington and St-Patrick streets.

From 7 p.m., jazz trumpeter Bertrand Margelidon will take care of the musical atmosphere, followed by a presentation of the film by Marcel Jean, filmmaker, critic, author and director of the Cinémathèque québécoise.

At 8:30 p.m., Kiss Me Deadly will be presented in its original English version with French subtitles. The film revolves around snarling private dick Mike Hammer (Ralph Meeker), whose decision one dark, lonely night to pick up a hitchhiking woman (Cloris Leachman) sends him down some terrifying byways.

The 6th edition of Film Noir au Canal – from July 17 to August 21, 2022
